Car Collector Chronicles® - Newsletter

This is something I am trying in an effort to get some interaction between CCC® and its readers; and at this point that number is approaching 12,000!

CCC® just celebrated its 3rd birthday as a publication. It is available only online. It contains no advertising. The Editor/Publisher and his spouse are invested in the collector car hobby. The rides in our car barn are: a 1955 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, a 1962 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible and a 1992 Cadillac Allante.

Past rides include a 1963 Corvair convert and a 1985 Buick Riviera rag top.

Every month some aspect of the car collecting hobby is discussed. This month, a look at the Chevy-based, Cadillac Clone El Morocco is presented.

The link to CCC® is:
Car Collector Chronicles

The idea here is not to just get one to read the pub, but to get your reactions, comments, and hopefully article contributions. Do take a look and then feel free to have at me with your comments. I really hope to hear from you!

Thanks,

Dave Yaros

I must say you're a great writer and researcher. Your CCC is a joy to read, very understandable and highly informative.

The El Morocco was quite an orphan in the car world.

When I was a teenager one of the local kids had a '51 Ford h'top to which he attached the rear of a '58 Chevy to create a half and half car. The El Morocco reminded me a lot of that.

I have little doubt the drivetrain and suspension etc. of the El Morocco were pure Chevy. It appears the only difference was the Cadillac inspired rear half.

Custom car and hot rod enthusiasts must have taken a few tips from Mr. Allender as their cars are often made up of many different car brand and after-market parts....as well as hand fabrications.

I'm glad to hear your CCC readrship is growing. It's easy to understand why.

I just found your site yesterday. I've read the 01 thru 03 2010 issue
    so far. Very nice.

My only "collector" car so far is my 1982 Mercury Cougar GS station wagon. I even got published in Auto Restorer Magazine
back in the June 2010 issue. Pretty much everything collector car and old station wagons are my thing so I'll be reading.

Any how, great reading so far.

    Hi Dave,
Nice article. Interesting to see all of the 55-56 Eldorado styling cues on the '56 El Morocco. The '57 model took more of it's look from the Eldorado Brougham.

Here's some pics of the only known 1956 El Morocco Convertible left. Check out all of the Eldorado features. Let's see how many Cadillac features we can pick out?
